I'm dealing with silver hair growing out and due to recent photos, I can not just let it be curly. I have to control it a bit, so here's how I do it. Check out the video in our FB group - Silver Hair Foxes. Just ask to join. Tools I use: Conair brush dryer and Martino split barrel curling wand.
We adopted a dog 3 weeks ago. Already had our miniature Schnauzer but he's getting old, so I went to the animal shelter on "Clear the Shelters" Day and found this little mutt. Her name is Princess Peanut and she now rules the roost but she's added a lot to our lives.
This podcast is about some challenges I've been struggling with and how I choose to deal with it. It's not easy to continue to remain upbeat when people around you are creating problems or don't have your best interests at heart. But here is a way and it's something I strive for every day. Enjoy. Next month I'll have stories about my grandbabies, so stay tuned.
This one is all about my cousins. Last month we visited Savannah - a sort of reunion - and it was the first time in almost 50 years that we had been together. Felt like we had seen each other the week before. So much fun. Savannah is a great place to visit. You should put it on your list.
As you know this podcast is all about me. LOL But it's also about advice for older women (and sometimes men), so this one is about hair. My own journey but also some things that might help others.
I think that one of the reasons we decide we aren't of use to society anymore as we get older is that we become irrelevant. The reason we become irrelevant is because we go out of communication with the younger generations. We have to stay in touch with those younger than ourselves. It's not hard to do. In fact, it can be fun!
I think that no matter what age we are, no matter what shape our bodies are in, we have to look at the glass as half full. We are relevant, we are visible and we are vitally important to the future of this planet. The focus is often on the young but the focus should never be taken off of us.
In this podcast, I talk about random subjects but most notably I talk about a fellow that has a podcast that helps put you to sleep - literally. It's called "Sleep with Me" and if you have any trouble sleeping at all, you should listen to it. I have my husband who does something similar to what the podcaster does with his podcast. Happy week everyone!
Back on the microphone again! Found a great product for greying brows and aging bodies. Some good advice in this one - especially if you have more than 20 lbs to lose to feel comfortable. Off to LA this week to take care of the grandbabies. Stay tuned.
I have been remiss and not doing this podcast for several weeks. Mea culpa. Some resolutions for the new year - smile a lot and exercise every day. Yikes! Did I say every day? (big sigh) It's something we have to do.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Here's what I'm thankful for. What are you thankful for?
I'm including some make-up tips in this podcast and also touting the benefits to your physical appearance and spiritual health of smiling. Smile everyone.
The good news is that the weather is finally cooling off in Florida. the bad news is that you have to question your doctor about medications you take.
Let's face it. When you reach your 60s, you can go in one of two directions - towards death or towards life. I prefer heading towards more life full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes. That's why I do this podcast, to hopefully inspire you or to just validate what you already know and are doing. That glass is definitely half full. If you are a listener and you have a story to tell, please email me - firstname.lastname@example.org
This past week has been all about volunteering and if you aren't doing it, you should! Get out there and share your wealth of experience and knowledge with those who need it - especially the younger generation.
You know, visiting my grandkids is awesome. All three of them are just wonderful in every sense of the word. But it's also exhausting and while I miss them terribly when I'm not there with them (they live in LA, I live in Florida), I love my life. I just need to be more active.
We weathered Irma quite well and were only without power for 5 days - not too bad but we did stay with friends because trying to exist at this time of year in Florida without AC is brutal. Everyone is OK and I'm headed to LA tomorrow to see my little munchkin grandkids. I'll tell you more next week from LA.
I was flat out on a project last week and didn't get to the podcast. I'm so sorry. This week, we are in a shelter waiting to see what Irma has in store from us. Not much to say.
More on entertainment, dealing with toxic people and products to try.
I'm trying all sorts of new things to enhance my aging body. Stay tuned.
Women's roles have been changing constantly throughout the history of earth and I found some great entertainment that sort of highlights that.
No matter what we do or where we go, sometimes we encounter toxic people. What do I mean by "toxic people". These are the people who always make you feel funky. It's not what they say or do, it's how they make you feel.
Don't second guess what you know. If you know that someone is toxic to you, don't try and get agreement from others, just get them off your lines - quickly.
This podcast is about make-up and attitude in our senior years. Both important to me!
Gotta have a purpose. Working on mine. I definitely have the purpose to help people.
I'll make my purpose this week to help at least one person. Then I'll report back to you next week.
Great time in LA. Glad to be home but missing my grandkids sooo much. Back to the need for stretching every day and little to no sitting. (big sigh)
Gotta do it. Now that I have new grandkids, I gotta be spry into my 80s.
